We’re teaching kiwi kids how to protect wildlife and wild places!

To inspire the next generation of leaders and conservationists, our outreach educators take conservation-focused sessions to where our tamariki learn best. During summer, we take year 5 to 13 students on an exciting overnight stay in one of Aotearoa’s beautiful Regional parks – like Tāwharanui open sanctuary and marine reserve.

As zoo educator Frazer says “We really want students to learn that they can contribute to conservation in their local area” and one of the ways they do this is by identifying and tracking pests so they can conserve native species in their own backyards.
