VILDMARKSVÄGEN: A STUNNING roadtrip on Swedens famous WILDERNESS ROAD // EPS 18
VILDMARKSVÄGEN: A STUNNING roadtrip on Swedens famous WILDERNESS ROAD // EPS 18
A 500 kilometer road-trip straight to the heart of the Swedish wilderness: Join the journey to the Vildmarksvägen. The Wilderness Road will take you to beautiful waterfalls, to lakes mirroring the sky and to Sami dwellings. Enjoy the wildlife of this northern part of Jämtland and Lapland.
The journey kicked off in the town Vilhelmina – the Vildmarksvägen starts here and is a 500 kilometer round trip to the town Strömsund.
We turned off to Saxnäs and the first one and a half hours we enjoyed the sun rising above beautiful lakes along the roadside. The first big stop was at the waterfall Trappstegsforsen – which is called the most beautiful waterfall of Sweden!
Would we do the journey on Vildmarksvägen again, we would have a clear winner for staying the night at: At the sami dwelling Fatmomakke. I finally got to taste ripe cloudberries and the best waffles in the cafe of Fatmomakke before exploring it’s old Kyrkstad with typical Sami huts along lake Kultsjön close to the mountain Marsfjällen.
After Fatmomakke we were getting closer to the highlight of Vildmarksvägen: The mountain plateau Stekenjokk and the highest paved road of Sweden!
If you dare you afterwards can go for a swim in the waterfall Brakkåfallet or enjoy the view on famous Hällingsåfallet (which we unfortunatley missed because I was dreaming on my motorcycle while driving along endless lakes that were mirroring the clouds).
Enjoy your trip on Vildmarksvägen – and let me know if you liked the journey!

And you missed the sweet fiskonfallet between Saxnäs and Klimpfjäll. 😊
Yes, you missed Gaustafallet and Hällingsåfallet!
Loved your video as I am a fisherman from Scotland and I would love to visit Sweden and Norway and have been thinking about it for some time but not with motorbike I drive a gtd golf estate and we do camping ⛺️ but again I loved your trip and your speaking English 👍🙏🎣🥃🏴
This is a most beautiful depiction of our inland, thank you for getting this out there! I went this trip the other way around in the summer of -19 and just knew I had to go again, I’ve been to Stekenjokk many times before but never on bike. Unfortunately last summer was a all-time record of tourists in the area and I felt no need to burden the road even more. This summer I will try again. Last time I went from Örnsköldsvik by the coast, by Junsele, Strömsund, Gäddede, in through Norway and the most amazing view from those small gravel roads over the mountains. Out to Blåsjön in Sweden again, over Stekenjokk and a short stop at a friends cabin just off Trappstegsforsen where you stopped. Further on through Vilhelmina, Åsele and back to the coast again after about 23 hours on the road. I so desperately want the season to begin now. Ride safe and please do come by ÖMCC if you ever pass by Örnsköldsvik.
This is so insanely beautiful, I love it! Thank you for this, for I will probably mever experience this myself.
I am so happy I found your channel. Every episode is so very amazing. Sweden seems to be as scenic as Norway. It’s good too you have had such good weather for the past few episodes. Just amazing scenery .
Amazing video and nature, great work😊😊
I rode this road in last summer (-20) and it’s absolutely amazing. Had to take it twice 🤭
If anyone reading this, planning to ride this road, at "Blåsjön" you can find a small road over to Norway, there is a great camping site and you can ride the "old gravel road" over the mountains with lovely views as a short sunset trip. It’s absolutely astonishing nature.
Gäddede, after Vildmarksvägen also have a gorgeous camp site next to the sea with "våfflor & hjortron". ❤️
Thank you for sharing this video. So nice work you’ve done 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
And your Swedish is almost better then lots of Swedish people 😊
Looking forward for next week
"To seek" , the never ending road, "to seek".
always wonderful a big thumbs up perfect !!!!!!!!!
Good👍🏻
We rode this road today, but you missed the Hällingsåfallet ☺️
God’s amazing creation!
So beatiful it´s breathtaking
Nice little movie. For those that want to follow suit I hihgly recommend setting your priorities to include Hällingsåfallet, even in a one-day trip. The sights actually merit 2 or 3 days to include the longest cave in Sweden Korallgrottan, and the spectacular river Bjurälven as well as the arts museum in Saxnäs.
Spent a couple of days on Vildmarksvägen and realised that we could easily spent a week up there probably two. It is absolutely amazing
But you missed the number 1 waterfall at this area: Hälsingåfallet ourside Gäddede. It is 40 m high and down into a canyon! Its a must see place!
Waffles and cloudberry jam! Mmmm. Even vanilla ice cream and hot cloudberry jam are very good.
just curious, are drones not allowed at your location when you’re at 5m19s ?
At 2:24 a song begins to play. It’s really beautiful. For those interested, it’s called Indiana Rose from the album The Rain Will Come Back by Daniel Gunnarsson and sung by Dinah Smith. Just gorgeous song-writing and a beautiful performance by Ms. Smith.
Wow so beutiful great amazing all that your enjoy travel motorbike vlog and but your big fan💕
Nice review of the wildernis road.
Every video has been of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen, well, next to Alaska. The waterfalls, forests, lakes, fjords, the BEAUTIFUL small towns, and the history are all just spectacular!!! Thank you for sharing. God bless you on your journey!
You should be paid by the swedish goverment for these videos, its one of the best ad’s for Sweden that i have seen on youtube.

she said share equally, he takes half on the first bite… 🙂 and i agree, food is a huge part of travel for me, its half of why i do it, welp almost, 35%, 20?
It’s such a calming video. The music .. so soothing! And beautiful Sweden!
sweden doesnt have the amount of mountains as norway, but finland doesnt have the amount of mountains as sweden, so it all adds up.
Switserland?? Sweden for the fuckin hell, are you stupid?
Nice
Ahh you missed Hällingsåfallet (waterfall) well If you come again you gotta see it 🙂
Share one waffle! I eat 5 myself. 😋
wann habt Ihr denn eure Reise begonnen?
Usefull information!
