Thank you, this was so helpful! Do you have an app yet?
Great video with great beginners’ tips. Thanks!
I am planning to go to the Grand Canyon for first time next week and Iām a bit nervous about it. In taking my 18 year old son with me. Iām more nervous about the altitude. This video is amazing. Thank you so much for the detailed explanation and all the information. Iām going to check out your other videos š
Thanks for all the info. Great video
My husband and I completed a Rim-River-Rim (South Kaibab down, Bright Angel up) hike in a day on 9/22/2023. We had watched your videos many times and your tips were invaluable. We did okay, it wasnāt pretty, but we made it and weāre still alive, weāre in our 60ās. I didnāt expect the hike down to be so difficult. I used trekking poles and purchased the shoes you recommended, Hoka. Iāve never had knee issues and had trained a lot. My right knee was swollen and in pain halfway down the trail which made for a very slow climb up. My backpack may have been too heavy, in retrospect. It was windy and cold starting out and I didnāt drink, eat, or use electrolytes effectively. We had a long rest at Phantom Ranch. Do you have any advice or tips for hiking downhill more efficiently? Thanks again for all you do! We love your channel.
April was when we did it long ago. A lot cooler below. Snow on the top. Stayed in a 1964 Chevy truck with a 1972 overhead camper. Took back packs with lots of extra water, food and room for extra clothing. Had lunch with some nice ravens on the river overlook. My sister and her best friend went down to the river. Bright Angel trailā¤ļø. Loved the mules and donkeys
Good day! Thank you so much! So glad I came across this video! Was thinking of doing the Kaibab trial but Iām thinking of taking your advice and doing the beginner one to appreciate the views! Not an intermediate hiker but I am a long distance runner so I hope it wonāt be too bad. Thank you for all the tips!
Great video
Very helpful! Thanks šš»
Grand Canyon history
Great tips!
Thank you for the very useful video and your advice on the trail hikes…im visiting the grand canyon for the first time in September…the bright angel trail seems to be the one i would like to hike …great video
Great advice! Sweaty Death March is my new band name.
Great common sense advice. No sensationalism that some folk try to inject into their vlogs. Subscribed š
Outstanding guidance. Many thanks.
I was planning our road trip and came across your channel. Thank you for so much useful information! Cannot wait to try out some of your recommended hikes!š„¾š
Very nicely summed up, itās what I was looking for. Thanks!
Heading out below the rim for the first time (more then just 20 min stroll) in October
Glad I found this video and your website!
Thank you for taking your time to share your knowledge
Thank you, great tips!
I watched many of your videos to prep for my trip to Yosemite and it was without a doubt one of the most breathtaking, astonishing experiences of my life. I had everything planned down to a tee and I owe a large part of that to you! I think our next stop is the Grand Canyon? Wherever we do end up– I know I’ll be looking up your videos!
Question (not really a dayhike question lol) – overnight, on average, what is the temp difference between Bright Angel campground and say, the south rim? For example, if it’s 20 degrees at the south rim, would it be just as cold, colder, or warmer overnight at the campground?
what season is the best for hiking into the Grand Canyon?
Which has better views, SK or BA? I hear BA views are blocked at the beginning?
Very informative video. My wife and I are heading to the US from Australia in December 2023 and weāll be staying at Maswik Lodge in the village, south rim for a couple of nights. Hoping the weather is kind and we can do Bright Angel trail š¤š»
I have been living in Arizona all my life (I’m 22). This Saturday is the first time that my fiancee, daughter, sister and I will be going to see it. Thank you for the info!
The last two switch backs going up bright angle suck after being on your feet for 19 hours and doing a triple rimer!!!
Thank you for being so informative and helpful, most importantly I appreciate your delivery and being kind to beginners!
is there a bathroom on any of the trails
When trails are icy and we want to do small sections of Rim trail, South Kaibob, or Bright Angel, are cleats sufficient, or spikes? Bright Angel is closed currently 1/2 mile down I believe, but we can do the top I think. Headed there on 2/13/2024, a couple days after significant snowfall. Thanks – your videos are awesome!
Hi Cris. Since the Ribbon Falls bridge is out, is there any access to the falls from North Kaibab trail?
Scared of The Edge ? I always thought he looked daft as a brush
Thank you for the tips and guidance.
We are planning a mid May sk trail to cottonwood day 1. Day 2 and 3 are easier with hike out from bright angel camp to south rim. Fkatlanders but training hard. Doable??? Suggestions?? Thanjs

This is simple straightforward advice and very much appreciated. Planning on watching your other content!

I have a tip for you – take the number of posted miles and double it (at least)
Hiked it for 20 yrs- when you’re about to step in, realize that’s the best you’re gonna feel for 2 weeks Lol

Hi! Iām planning my trip for next year, however, I am HIGHLY allergic to mules š„². How often do you come across them on the hike? Once or twice? Thanks great video
